Set SSID

Set the service set identifier (SSID) for any OpenWay Riva multi-mode capable meter or ERT operating in network mode. Meter and ERT configurations require a valid SSID, which is set by a system administrator. The Set SSID command automatically retrieves it from the FDM server.

When you program the meter or ERT, it is necessary to enter the SSID because it identifies one radio-frequency local area network (RFLAN) from others so the meter or ERT can connect to a specific network. If the incorrect SSID is selected during configuration, the device is not permitted to join the network.

Before using the Set SSID command, the SSID number must be obtained from Itron and must be in decimal form. To obtain the SSID, call (864)-718-6876.

The inputs may vary by device. Expand the device type you're working with for its input details. For descriptions of the results, see Result and success fields. A results screen indicating the set SSID value in a decimal value appears.
